Lessons

Lessons in our Boxwood Equestrian Training Program are personalized for all skill levels, accommodating beginner through advanced riders and equipping our clients with the skills needed to achieve their goals. We specialize in Hunters, Jumpers, and Equitation, preparing our riders to compete at many levels, from local schooling shows to national competitions.

Depending on rider ability, lessons may include flat work, seat positions, aids, patterns, ground poles, jumps, and more! Our horses are our partners, so our trainers also teach the importance of respectful and responsible equine care and handling. This includes:

  • Putting on a halter and leading your horse

  • Grooming for lessons and the show ring

  • Tacking and untacking your horse

  • Mounting and dismounting your horse

  • Safety on and off your horse

Grooming and tacking/untacking services are not included in our lessons because we want our riders to be hands-on and well-rounded in their equine education. This also helps develop a deeper bond between you and your horse, whether you are riding one of our lesson horses, a lease, or your own horse.

All clients are required to complete a Rider Release Form prior to their first lesson. Please print, complete, and bring the form to your first lesson.
