Training

Horses boarded at our barn are required to participate in the Boxwood Equestrian Training Program to ensure that they receive ample instruction and are ready to compete in the show ring. This includes horses under consignment to prepare the horses for sale.

Please view the Board & Training packages below for more information and to choose what is right for you and your horse. At this time, we do not have stall availability for horses that will not be participating in the training program.

All board packages at
Boxwood Equestrian include the following board amenities:

One indoor stall with shavings
- Heated indoor arena in winter
- Fly Predators and fan use in summer
Feedings
- Hay three times per day
- Grain twice a day
- Extra feedings are provided dependent on the horse’s needs
Administration of supplements and/or medication
- Owners are required to purchase their own medications or will be subject to a medication fee
- Boxwood Equestrian will keep basic medications on hand for emergencies and necessary care
Daily turnout (weather permitting)
Blanketing and un-blanketing (as needed)
Use of all indoor and outdoor facilities

Board & Training Packages

A $50 discount will be applied to board and training bills paid before the first of the month.

Board amenities are valued at $1,000 per month.

Full Care Board and Training

Option A | $1,650 per month

Up to five lessons and/or training rides based on the rider’s schedule and horse’s needs
Daily grooming
Tacking and untacking
Bathing, bandaging, hand walking, icing, and rehab care
Mane pulling and clipping for horse shows (body clipping available as an add-on service)

Long-Term Rehabilitation

Option B | $1,500 per month

Up to five professional rides per week
Rehabilitation regiment
- Medication administration, bandaging, soaking, icing (if necessary), and hand-walking (owner responsible for all supplies and medication costs)
This option is only available for current Boxwood Equestrian clients

Consignment

Option C | $1,350 per month

Horse will be put on a training schedule deemed appropriate to achieve sale
Professional rides included
- Lessons for the owner are not included in this package but, when appropriate, they may be used at Boxwood’s professional discretion to teach on to take photos/videos to promote sale
Social media marketing and advertising of the horse included
15% commission to be charged upon sale or lease
- Commissions are billed separately and payable upon receipt
- In a lease to buy, the commission on the buyout amount will be charged at the time of buyout
Incentive to show
- Owner is responsible for paying all show-related expenses and fees
